        ROGUES OF SCOTLAND
        at
        SCARBOROUGH 2002

Not to mention one of the original Roguettes (Center, Sharon of "Queen Anne's Lace") joining The Shantyman (of "Corsairs" fame, Left of Sharon) onstage for some high-stepping action!!!

Special Guest of Honor this year was Hildegard of Bingen (AKA Leisa McCord), who joined The Rogues for a set as Guest Vocalist (Photo, Above). Leisa has a most wonderful voice very well-suited to madrigals and medieval plainchant. Unfortunately, the Gypsy Stage was not the best venue for a display of her vocal talents, nor was there any way to play either the bagpipes or the bodhrans quietly, so most of her performance was simply overwhelmed by the instruments -- at least for patrons sitting beyond the third row (Photo, Below)!

A real professional, Leisa gave her very best to keep the show going (Photo, Above). Her performance was excellent, for those who could hear it. For those who couldn't, she also performed daily as Hildegard at the nearby Taylor Lane Stage, where her solo voice could be much better appreciated!

A final shot of The Rogues (Photo, Above), rocking the audience at Scarborough. Despite the recent loss of their lead drummer, Bryan Blaylock -- who married and moved to Oklahoma with his new bride -- The Rogues easily lived up to expectation with yet another high-energy performance. As you can well imagine, I'll be looking forward to seeing them again at SRF2003!!!
